If you know what a portable sound burger is, you must be pretty in love with devices with retro looks. Well, Audio-Technica has great news for you! The Japanese brand is bringing it back!

The first version, which is the AT770 Sound Burger, came out in 1983. It uplifted portable audio players’ height.

This portable player was also known as the Master Disc in the US. Basically, it was a record player that you could take anywhere. It came with a pair of fold-away headphones and required three 2 batteries to run.

This OG Sound Burger came with a belt drive that was attached to a DC motor. It could play 33 1/3 and 45 RPM record discs. And to be honest, the player had a cool overall outlook.

The new version, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of Audio-Technica, maintains the same overall design. So, if you loved how the original looked, you will not be disappointed. However, the new player comes with mandatory 21st-century updates.

Firstly, the new Sound Burger from Audio-Technica has Bluetooth connectivity. Secondly, it now has a built-in lithium-ion battery instead of relying on single-use batteries.

Aside from that, there is a USB-C port for charging up the built-in battery. The new Sound Burger can offer up to 12 hours of continuous playback with a full charge.

But, unlike the original Sound Burger, there is no extendable cord hanger for headphones, nor does the new Sound Burger come with a pair of fold-away headphones.

Finally, the new model comes with the ATN3600L stylus pre-installed. Also, Audio-Technica has integrated the option to rig the new Sound Burger through an RCA cable.

Besides the Sound Burger, Audio-Technica has also revealed a new manual belt-drive turntable, the AT-LP2022. This high-end turntable has a unique see-through chassis, which makes it look pretty sleek.

The see-through housing is basically made of 30mm acrylic. It rests on isolation feet and has height adjustability features. These isolation feet will lower the overall number of unwanted resonances.

The AT-LP2022 also features a black AT-VM95E cartridge. It is mounted to the turntable. There is a clear AT-VMN95SH Shibata stylus too.

If you want to complete the look of this unique turntable, you can get the matching see-through platter. It will help o reveal the innards of the deck.

Both the new AT-LP2022 and 2022 Sound Burger are available for purchase. However, the AT-LP2022 is only limited to 3000 units. So, if you want to grab the unique-looking turntable, you need to hunt it down right away.
