Nonetheless, the wooden housing is made of Mizume wood, otherwise known as Japanese birch. It features a hand-painting of Sakura (Cherry Blossom) and comes with hou-ou phoenix designs.

The designs are done by utilizing a traditional maki-e-lacquer technique. So, you can understand how much the headphones represent Japanese heritage.

What about the sound profile and signature? The ATH-W2022 comes in a closed-back setup. This dynamic pair of headphones are baffle-integrated with 58 millimeters drivers. Audio Technica has specially designed the drivers for this pair of headphones.

The headbands, on the other hand, are wrapped in plush deerskin. The same thing is true for earbuds. This material is there to ensure a maximum level of comfort and durability.

Audio Technica is also celebrating 25 years of wooden headphone craftsmanship by releasing this pair of headphones. You might have already heard about other headphones from the brand that is in this category.

So, how limited is the new headphone? Well, Audio Technica is releasing only 100 pairs of these headphones.

And as they are limited editions, it goes without saying that the eye-catching ATH-W2022 will be pretty expensive. Also, it is worth noting that the headphones will be available for purchase in Winter.
