Bowers & Wilkins is bringing the all-new Px7 S2, for those who want flagship ANC headphones without making a big investment on higher-end and higher-priced models like the Px8.
Cancels noise clean out adaptive noise cancelling that automatically. Responds to your environment to keep the outside world out of the music
For the Px7 S2, Bowers & Wilkins claims to have created an entirely new acoustic platform to produce unmatched high-resolution sound quality.
According to different news sources, the newly created, specially constructed 40mm drivers would reproduce music with an ultra-fast response while also being low in distortion for a more accurate, high-resolution presentation. The drive units are tilted in each ear cup to give the listener a more realistic and immersive soundscape.
The Qualcomm aptX Adaptive Bluetooth technology allows for 24-bit wireless music streaming from compatible streaming services like Qobuz and Tidal.
It is unlikely that these headphones will support the upcoming aptX Lossless/Snapdragon Sound technology. However, the Px7 S2 still offers USB-C and 3.5mm choices for wired connections.
The Px7 S2 uses six high-performance microphones for noise cancellation, including two for monitoring each drive unit’s output, two more for measuring background noise from the outside environment, and the remaining two for noise suppression to preserve vocal quality.
The microphones have been set up and oriented to block out noise in the noisiest areas without compromising audio.
You can also use the Music app, which is supported by the Panorama 3 and Zeppelin speakers and has replaced the Bowers’ Headphones app. The app allows for EQ adjustment, noise cancellation and transparency mode activation, and battery level monitoring.
The battery life of the headphone is 30 hours and a 15-minute quick charge can add up to seven hours of listening time. The headphones’ appearance has altered; they are now thinner, a little lighter, and have more opulent ear pads with memory foam for increased comfort.
The exterior earcup panels and the top of the Bowers & Wilkins headband are covered in a fabric material with a faint sheen. In contrast, the memory foam earpads and headband cushions are lined with faux leather.
These additional components and the aluminum earcups’ semi-matte exterior give the over-ears a chic, contemporary appearance. Even during extended listening periods, the fit is incredibly comfortable.
The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 is now available for $399, £379, or €429 through the company and a few retailers. The flagship Px8, which will be released later this year, will cost $549, £499, or €599.
