So, the offering from Sonos has made a lot of craze in the audio industry. Both the Arc and Beam boast Dolby Atmos and many high-end features, making them great picks for home entertainment systems.

However, one of the complaints that most had was the price. It was way out of the budget for most that were looking to enjoy Dolby Atmos features with their televisions. Well, Denon listened! Their recent budget-friendly release, DHT-S517, has Dolby Atmos support and offers a load more for the money it is asking for.

New Release
Denon DHT-S517 Sound Bar for TV with Wireless Subwoofer

The Denon DHT-S517 sound bar comes with Dolby Atmos that transforms any TV into a home entertainment center. It’s easy to setup and takes your home entertainment up a notch with its left and right channel tweeters and midrange drivers.

First of all, the system comes with a soundbar and a subwoofer system. Even though the subwoofer is wireless, you will need a wired connection for the soundbar. But the fact that it comes with a wireless subwoofer at such a price point is pretty amazing.

There are seven speakers under the hood. That includes midrange drivers and left and right channel tweeters. The system even has two up-firing speakers and a dedicated center channel. With all of these speakers, the setup will offer 3.1.2 channels of audio, which is pretty much standard for high-end soundbars at the moment.

That said, the upward-firing speakers do a proper job of making the sound back from the ceiling. Combined with other drivers, the soundbar will trick your brain into thinking that sound is coming from every possible angle, which will eventually provide you with an authentic Dolby Atmos experience.

Denon has put proper emphasis on compatibility. It will work with a broad range of televisions. And when it comes to the output, the system has digital optical output and HMDI eARC. The Denon DHT-S517 even has HDMI input, which will allow you to connect external devices to the soundbar without needing to go through extra hassles.

As there is proper Bluetooth functionality, wireless streaming will be a breeze. Also, the audio of the DHT-S517 is highly customizable. Its first three modes will focus on speech enhancement. These modes will also offer a dedicated level of control towards the media’s dialogue.

Other than that, there are four different modes for general sound. Those will enhance the audio quality by factoring in the type of media you are playing on the television. Among those four modes, you will find the award-winning Pure Mode. This mode turns off all of the unnecessary processing.

Apart from that, the Night Mode that the soundbar boasts will help to gain more dynamic range and clarity from the audio. This mode will surely come in handy when you want to enjoy a movie or a show without disturbing others.

Overall, the tailored listening modes will surely enhance your television-watching experience. And considering that the Denon DHT-S517 has loads of features of high-end soundbars at a much lower price point, it is totally worthy of consideration.
