FiiO has just debuted a product that is a first-of-its-kind for the brand. The FiiO R7 is a desktop hi-res audio player and streamer that promises some serious audio performance.

And it is perfect for every setup, from home offices to wireless headphones. However, FiiO is not limiting the R7 to just a desktop player.

Instead, the brand is marketing it as an all-in-one device that you can use as a digital music streamer and a balanced headphone amplifier at the same time.

On the front of the FiiO R7, you will find a touch screen, which will make controls hassle-free. There is also support for local storage streaming, enabling you to listen to music locally.

The FiiO R7 also has support for multiple hi-res audio formats. That includes MQA, which is something every audiophile looks for.

Also, you will be able to use the device with headphones or active speakers, or both if you want to. In addition to that, the R7 has support for FiiO SP3 Active Loudspeakers.

And in case you didn’t know, the SP3 does not have an official launch date yet. In short, the R7 packs a lot of functionality.

So, FiiO is not wrong in calling it an all-in-one device for your music streaming needs. When it comes to the hardware, the FiiO R7 comes with some decent specs.

It packs a high-power THX-788+ desktop-grade amplification chip and ESS Sabre ES9068AS DACs. The dual THX amplification supports DSD512 files and high-res playback at up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM.

In terms of connectivity, you have the option to select plenty of different wireless and wired options. USB ports, coaxial, and optical inputs are on the back.

There are also coax, line level, optical, and balanced XLR outputs. Regarding wireless, the R7 sports Bluetooth 5.0 and 5GHz WiFi support.

And if you do not want to settle on the above-mentioned connectivity for music playback, you can use an attached SSD or the player’s 64GB internal storage.

Also, you have the option to play music through AirPlay and DLNA. On that note, the 64GB internal space of the FiiO R7 will not last you too long.

So, if you have a massive music library, it would be ideal for you to get a microSD card. The R7 can support up to 2TB of that.

Finally, the FiiO R7 has Android 10, which will offer support for all the streaming apps available in Google Play Store. That includes Amazon Music, Apple Music, Tidal, and Spotify.
