Firstly, the earbuds come with an unprecedented design. It features a teardrop shape that Huawei specifically designed for those who want to get “effortlessly comfortable earbuds.” 

And to be exact, it is the most uniquely-shaped earbuds on the market. But the shape is not there just for comfort. Huawei FreeBuds 5 adopts that unique shape for aesthetics too. 

According to Huawei, it is a “futuristic droplet-shaped design,” which results from hundreds of optimisations and tens of thousands of ergonomic simulations.

The earbuds’ curves and lines are there to ensure that FreeBuds 5 adheres to the natural contours of the human ear. That eventually will deliver the highest possible comfort.

Regarding aesthetics, the Huawei FreeBuds 5 comes in multiple color options. You can get the buds in Silver Frost, Ceramic White, and Coral Orange, depending on your style. 

The charging case, on the other hand, features a matte finish, which looks good and feels good in the hands.

Moreover, the new shape of the earbuds also claims to offer better Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) performance. There is a tri-mic system that adapts to the user’s ear shape. 

Combined with the intelligent dynamic ANC8, the design allows the FreeBuds 5 to efficiently identify ambient noise.

Meanwhile, the Deep Natural Network (DNN) algorithm does a stellar job of removing unwanted noise during calls. Want to know what the buds sound like? 

The Huawei FreeBuds 5 boasts ultra-magnet dynamic drivers. They are fitted with bass turbo technology to deliver bass tones that can go as low as 16Hz. 

According to the company, the buds have a frequency response that’s 50% higher than the previous FreeBuds 4.

In addition, the Huawei FreeBuds 5 comes with a triple adaptive equalizer, which aims to improve sound quality in real time. The buds even have support for LDAC and L2HC Bluetooth codecs. 

And in case you didn’t know, both of them are there to offer you wireless Hi-res playback. However, Huawei did not leave any room for compatibility issues. 

The FreeBuds 5 is compatible with Android and iOS devices. There is an easy Bluetooth pairing mechanism too. And the battery life is top-notch too. The buds can offer up to 30 hours of run time with a single charge.
