Racal Acoustics and INVISIO have released their first joint product solution for the army, the RA5100 Tactical Communication Headset.
It combines technical expertise and operational knowledge to provide customers with the best listening safety and communication solution. Protecting troops from the most extreme steady and impulse noise exposure for hybrid missions, whether in a car or on foot.
Racal Acoustics has built market-leading listening to safer alternatives, employing its fundamental digital know-how and outstanding noise reduction applied sciences to provide the ultimate headset flexibility, allowing customers to select the best safety stage suitable to the mission.
Digital Lively Noise Reduction ANR model (SNR 30dB) is available on the new RA5100 to maximize noise attenuation from constant high-level noise, such as when working in or around vehicles.
Also the headset boasts situational awareness and hear-through mode, flexible volume management for improved hearing in calm areas, and digital noise reduction for protection against excessive impulsive noises.

A user can use twin listening to safety mode (SNR 41dB) for severe noise conditions. Like all INVISIO and Racal Acoustic products, the headset has been developed with the user in mind. Thus it’s light, snug, waterproof (to 1m), and includes a left or right microphone mount.
The RA5100 meets all army specifications and is certified to MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461F. It is built to withstand great shock and vibration as well as severe electromagnetic conditions.
INVISIO includes a number of advanced features that ensure a successful mission, ease of use, and lower life cycle costs. The headset is designed for easy integration with industry-standard in-service radios and digital devices such as computers, smartphones, and tablets.
It is also completely compatible with the INVISIO product line, with more PTT and cable options. The headphone will be powered either by the connected communications machine or by a single internal AA battery.
The advanced digital software improves listening safety to match the job, assures outstanding voice recognition and speech intelligibility, and can be modified to adapt to changing vehicle noise profiles.
INVISIO’s upgrades to software also allow for the addition of new features, extending service life and lowering total costs.
Excessive Noise Headset Product Supervisor Rob Harrison stated, “The brand new RA5100 is a fantastic instance of cooperation operating, merging the skills of two trade-main organizations to give a higher product.”
He added, “Modern battlefield is a complex and rapidly changing environment, and the RA5100 is a particularly adaptable operational headset that can be used in a wide range of combat tasks, both in vehicles and on foot. The person may also improve situational awareness, which is critical for detecting, recognizing, and positioning opponent threats, resulting in better communication, lethality, and survivability.”
