Samsung is set to debut its next-gen lineup of monitors at CES 2023. And in case you missed it, the Samsung Odyssey QLED monitor from 2022, the Odyssey G7, was one of the most praised gaming monitors of the year.
But this time, it seems like Samsung will outdo itself with the new 2023 lineup. Basically, the new 2023 lineup for Samsung gaming monitors has two brand-new models.
First, there is the Odyssey OLED Neo G9. This monitor will build upon the success of the original Odyssey G9. And it is the world’s first dual UHD resolution gaming monitor.
The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 also has a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 1000R curved panel. This 57-inch display utilizes the latest and greatest mini LED technology.
That means the color production, vibrancy, and brightness will all be top-notch. But that is not all; the display even comes with a VESA Display HDR 1000 certification.
That will offer excellent image reproduction even during the most challenging in-game environments. Moreover, the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 comes with a matte coating on the surface.
This coating aims to lower the glaring effect to the minimum level. Another great part about the panel is that it boasts a peak refresh rate of 240Hz, which will let you enjoy a smooth and artifact-free gaming experience.
Alongside being the first even dual 4K gaming monitor, the Neo G9 is also the world’s first monitor with DisplayPort 2.1 support.
This support will let the monitor get data at twice the speed of the predecessor. And it also opens the door for Display Stream Compression, enabling it to transmit information without any distortion.
Secondly, we have the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9. As the name suggests, this model will be an upgraded version of the original G9.
And it will come with a sharp OLED panel, which will offer crisp blacks and a near-infinite level of color contrast.
Furthermore, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 comes with a 1800R curved 49-inch panel. This display has a QHD resolution and features a 32:9 aspect ratio.
And as it utilizes the quantum dot OLED technology, it will not fail to offer you pixel-perfect color contrast in all the in-game scenarios.
Samsung also says that the OLED panel in the Odyssey OLED G9 has the ability to illuminate each pixel separately.
In other words, it does not rely on a backlight. This trait will let the display offer a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. And it will do that while providing true RGB and true black colors without needing any color filters.
Even with all of those, the OLED panel of the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 sports a 0.1ms response time and has the support for a 240Hz refresh rate. So, games will run fluidly on the panel.
