The Ambeo from Sennheiser was an excellent soundbar for home theater systems. Sennheiser has packed in all of the latest audio techs into the unit. And let’s not forget its overall capabilities. It offers excellent value for the money. Well, things just got better for the Ambeo. It now has the ability to connect to AirPlay 2 and Spotify.
So, recently, Sennheiser has revamped the whole operating system of the soundbar. With the roll-out, the Ambeo now boasts the ability to connect both Spotify Connect and Apple Airplay 2. The Airplay 2 option will allow you to stream audio through an iOS device. And it will be possible to stream to speakers that are in more than one room simultaneously.
That means you can send your entire playlist from your new iPhone to the Ambeo and other Airplay 2 supported devices at the same time, giving you a proper multi-room audio-listening experience. But what about Spotify Connect? Well, as the name suggests, it will let you stream Spotify music through the Ambeo.
However, that is not all that the new operating system brings to the table. The Ambeo now supports Tidal Connect. It is basically the same feature as Spotify Connect but for the Tidal streaming service. So, you are not getting left out if you do not rely on Spotify for your music needs.
On that note, the new operating system is now known as Ambeo OS. And it promises to make the entire operating system much slicker. Now, it will utilize WiFi as opposed to Bluetooth Low Energy to connect with the Smart Control app.

Thanks to that shift in connection mode, the entire user experience should become more responsive and smoother. Also, the WiFi connection also promises more stability, which means you might no longer need to worry about connection drop. It also promises higher overall security.
Talking of which, the Smart Control app has also seen a revamp. The team has rebuilt it from scratch and added a much more modern look to the UI. According to Sennheiser, the new UI is going to offer a “more personal, relevant, and rewarding intuitive user experience.”
Nonetheless, the new UI should make things a breeze for new Sennheiser users. They will not find themselves scratching their heads just to get to one setting for their Sennheiser device.
The app even has new features for the Sennheiser headphones. Among them, the first notable one is the Sound Check. It allows the users the find the perfect EQ. Then, there are Sound Zones, which will let the users tweak the settings for different locations and scenarios. That means you can finally set the headphones up for the office, outside, and home correctly.
