After months of leaks, the Google Pixel Watch 2 finally became official. At the core, the new Google smartwatch is a proper upgrade to its predecessor.

It comes with big improvements, both from the inside and out. All of these upgrades aim to deliver a better user experience and, most importantly, better health and fitness tracking.

Among all, the most significant upgrade is in terms of the design and processor. Google designed the Pixel Watch 2 for all-day and night wear.

It comes with a 100% aluminum build, making the watch 10% lighter than the original. The design also ensures better navigation throughout the UI.

It also comes with an oversized crown, which sits more flush with the circular silhouette. Under the hood, the Google Pixel Watch 2 features an all-new CPU.

With four cores, this process can offer smoother and more robust performance. Google has paired this powerful processor with a low-power co-processor.

This two CPU design makes the watch gain better battery life than the predecessor. To be exact, you can get up to 24 hours of runtime with the always-on display mode turned on.

There’s no need to worry even when the battery is low either. The Google Pixel Watch 2 has a faster charging rate, which can get the watch to 50% in just thirty minutes.

Other than that, Google has packed three new sensors in the Pixel Watch 2. These sensors offer a deeper insight into your health. The Watch 2 also has an improved AI heart rate algorithm, delivering more accurate and precise heart readings than before.

In addition, the Google Watch 2 is more accurate in tracking activities such as rowing, spinning, and HIIT. To be exact, it’s 40% more accurate than the predecessor.

The Google Pixel Watch 2 incorporates the Body Response feature from Fitbit. But on the new watch, this feature is powered by a brand-new continuous electrodermal activity sensor. This sensor can offer better insight into the possible signs of stress.

You’ll get a notification on the smartwatch when the Pixel Watch 2 picks up physical indicators of negative and positive stress. This notification will make it easier to reflect on how you’re actually feeling at that moment.

There’s a new skin temperature in the Pixel Watch 2 too. It can offer extra insight into your body, especially while sleeping at night.

Besides, there are multiple fitness features available in the Google Pixel Watch 2. For example, you have the new Pace Training features and Heart Rate Zone Coaching.

Also, all the Fitbit features in the original Pixel Watch are on the Pixel Watch 2. That includes Sleep Score, Daily Readiness Score, Sleep Profile, and 40 workout modes.
