McIntosh MQ112 Environmental Equalizer has made its official debut. At the core, it’s an 8-band stereo equalizer that enables listeners to get complete control of the audio signals.
To be precise, the equalizer allows you to adjust the levels by +/- 12dB range. And you can make adjustments in eight key bands, which are between the 25Hz and 10kHz range.
That means you can use the McIntosh MQ112 Environmental Equalizer to fine-tune the mix and work with the balance of the frequencies to get the ideal sonic profile in any listening space.
There’ll be no need to tinker around with speaker placement, room treatments, or the layout of the room. You can get a precise reproduction of sound from vintage recordings, which will be free of imperfections.
In addition, the McIntosh MQ112 Environmental Equalizer comes with both unbalanced and balanced inputs and outputs. These ports make the unit optimally versatile for almost all sound systems.
You can also hook the equalizer to the power amplifier and preamplifier of any audio configuration. A secondary pair of outputs enables the connection between two separate stereo systems.
For the intricate setups, you can connect the MQ112 through processor loops. Alternatively, you can use tape monitor record/play connections, which are available in the integrated amplifiers and many preamps.
In short, you have pretty much limitless options to get the equalizer hooked into your setup. According to the President of McIntosh, Charlie Randall, “The new MQ112 puts McIntosh’s powerful EQ capabilities in a standalone unit, giving listeners more options to customize and fine-tune their system’s equalization than ever before.”
The President continues, “We are excited by the possibilities that the MQ112 offers audio enthusiasts to take control of their sound.”
In terms of the design, the McIntosh MQ112 Environmental Equalizer comes with a McIntosh illuminated logo along with a black glass front faceplate.
There are rotary control knobs along with custom-machined aluminum end caps. These design elements make the equalizer pop out in almost every setup, of course, in a good way.
Besides, the McIntosh MQ112 Environmental Equalizer also comes with a tilt knob, which enables a quick tonal balance shift of +/- 6dB. This adjustment will enable you to boost bass or treble across the entire frequency range.
Moreover, you’ll find EQ Control IN and OUT settings. These bypass the equalizer circuit, making it easy to compare the EQ with the output before and after making the adjustments.
Are you wondering when you can get the McIntosh MQ112 Environmental Equalizer for your setup? It’s set to be available through authorized McIntosh dealers starting from the beginning of October 2023.
