JBL L100 Classic loudspeakers got revived once by the audio specialist. But it seems like JBL was not happy with the first edition.

So, it decided to return to the drawing board and envision it again. For the 1st edition, reviewers said some really good things about the L100 Classic speakers.

They were praised for having an enthusiastic character while surpassing expectations regarding sound.

To be exact, the speakers were well-capable of handling delicate and insightful aspects of audio. But JBL was not satisfied with how the 1st edition JBL L100 Classic loudspeakers performed.

So, the brand showcased the second edition of the JBL L100 Classic at the High End Munich show. Along with it, JBL brought out the smaller sibling of the retro speakers, the L82. Both speakers come with a significant number of internal upgrades.

All of which aim to enhance your HiFi audio experience. Moreover, the new speakers come with JBL’s “Performance Package.”

Thanks to that, the brand-new loudspeakers will be able to deliver a step up in terms of sound quality from the previous generation. Wondering what the “Performance Package” really brings?

Regarding the specifics, it enhances each JBL L100 Classic driver. The woofer also has an upgraded design, which is 30cm in size for the L100. It aims to make no compromise in offering a distortion-free experience.

Besides that, JBL has refined the tweeter of the JBL L100 Classic loudspeaker, a 25mm titanium dome, and the midrange cone. They are now tuned to “deliver higher performance levels.“

There are many other chances on the 2nd edition of the retro speakers. That includes an update on the crossover design, which now accommodates dual inputs for bi-wiring.

Moreover, JBL has polished the binding post terminals and brought two new sets of “premium gold-plating,” which offers a much more secure connection.

The gold plating even broadens the compatibility of the JBL L100 Classic loudspeakers with a broad range of speaker cables.

And the rest stays the same as the 1st edition. So, the 2nd edition comes with the same vintage aesthetic that’s defined by a walnut veneer finish.

In addition, the JBL L100 Classic loudspeakers have the same three-way configuration as the 1st edition.

On that note, JBL is offering three Quadrex foam grill color options. You can get it in orange, blue, or black. Wondering when the speakers will be available for purchase?

At the High End Munich show, JBL announced that the 2nd edition speakers would go on sale in the second quarter of 2023.
