Last weekend at the Dutch Audio Event, the Sonus faber Duetto made its grand entry. It’s the Italian HiFi brand’s latest active wireless stereo speaker system.
According to Livio Cucuzza, the Chief of Design, the “Duetto is a true Sonus faber stereo system, blending 40 years of premium speaker design, Italian style and materials with modern technology and streaming features.”
Among the main highlights, the Duetto wireless stereo speaker system comes in graphite wood veneer or walnut veneer finishes, making it look elegant and sleek.
The speaker system also comes with a lute-shaped wood cabinet. Sonus faber has merged it with a custom, elegant-looking heatsink.
This construction doesn’t only make the cabinet durable but also the musicality it needs to perform. Besides, the Sonus faber Duetto comes with WiFi certification.
And to offer the best possible experience, it utilizes UWB (Ultra Wide Band) wireless connectivity. In addition, the wireless speaker is also Bluetooth-compatible, making it easy to stream music on the system.
Also, you’ll find Chromecast, AirPlay, Tidal, Spotify, and Roon-ready certification on the system. For wired connections, the Sonus faber Duetto brings a switchable vinyl/line-level input.
There’s HDMI and optical input. And don’t worry about the setup process. The speaker system has its own dedicated app.
This app makes it easier to set up and control the system. Also, the speaker system comes with a SENSOTM interface on the top of the cabinet.
It is leather-finished and allows you to control different speaker functions. Under the hood, the Sonus faber Duetto boasts two amplifiers.
These Class AB and D amplifiers are housed within the heatsinks. Among them, the Class AB is rated at 100W. It takes care of the 0.7-inch silk doomed tweeter.
The Class D amplifier, on the other hand, is rated at 205W. And it drives the 5.25-inch paper pulp mid/bass driver. These two amplifiers will make sure that you get every detail out of the Sonus faber Duetto.
As Livio Cucuzza says, “Place the Duetto in your preferred space, choose your favorite source, close your eyes, and enjoy a one-of-a-kind listening experience.” And that holds true considering how feature-packed the speaker system is.
In terms of specs, the Sonus faber Duetto comes with a frequency response range of 37Hz to 30kHz. The Bluetooth connectivity brings aptX HD, which offers high-resolution wireless streaming.
Other than that, the crossover of the speaker system is at 1900Hz, and the Max SPL is at 105 dB with SPL @1m. And the HDMI port has support for ARC and eARC, making it easier to hook the system to your TV setup.
