Designed for HiFi fans, the Yamaha HA-L7A headphone amp combines class-leading audio technologies with different AV receiver advancements. To be exact, Yamaha has designed the HA-L7A headphone amp to act like a perfect companion for the flagship Yamaha YH-5000SE headphones.
As the first true audiophile headphone amp, the HA-L7A also pairs perfectly with other headphones. Yamaha says that the HA-L7A is for meeting the ardent desires of headphone enthusiasts.
To meet all the demands, the headphone amp comes with audiophile-level components. These components of the Yamaha HA-L7A strive to deliver the ultimate True Sound in headphones.
And you can really tell all the effort Yamaha has put into the headphone amp by looking at the design.Specifically, the HA-L7A features a “bold, original design and meticulous build quality.”
It will be a perfect match for audio enthusiasts looking for a beautiful and capable headphone amp for their setup. Regarding performance, the director of consumer audio at Yamaha Corporation of America says, “The HA-L7A is the ultimate solution for HiFi headphone amplification and playback of high-resolution content.”
Alex Sadeghina has also talked about the components that the Yamaha HA-L7A utilizes in a statement. The headphone amp comes packed with an “innovative Sound Field mode,” paired with a “no-compromise design and construction.”
And with the legendary Yamaha engineering, the headphone amp is basically sure to make a “significant impact on the HiFi headphone market.” The patented floating and balanced power amplifier is another big standout of the Yamaha HA-L7A.
There are four sets of amplifier circuits on both sides and both the left and right channels. These amplifier circuits are floated from the ground.
This results in a thoroughly symmetrical push-pull operation. All the circuitry inside the power supply is entirely independent of the ground. That includes the power supply.
This independent nature of the circuitry eliminates the effects of voltage fluctuation and external noise surrounding the ground. In addition, the Yamaha HA-L7A comes with an ESS ES9038PRO DAC.
It’s a 32-bit flagship DAC that Yamaha has combined with a dedicated master clock. The dedicated master clock utilizes a crystal oscillator with ultra-low phase noise.
That means the headphone amp has precise D/A (digital to analog) conversion capabilities. It also has an eight-channel D/A converter inside.
That eight-channel converter is in the chips that apply four-channel conversion on the right and left sides, respectively. The other highlights of the Yamaha HA-L7A include toroidal transformers with bifilar windings.
Also, the sound field mode of the headphone amp utilizes the Yamaha Cinema DSP Sound Field Creation tech. And if you’re wondering, the HA-L7A will go on sale starting from late 2023.
