Hegel, the Norwegian HiFI, has just introduced a brand-new reference integrated amplifier, the Hegel H600. It’s a proper successor to the reference H590, which Hegel launched five years ago.

And as a next-level amplifier, it comes with a lot of upgrades. After all, Hegel says that the H600 has been in development for three years.

In this period, Hegel looked into everything that made the H590 good and made them even better. Among all the new features, the Hegel H600 has a new chassis design, a new DAC, and a much-improved amplifier section.

The amp also comes with a superior streaming engine. According to Hegel, the H600 adds “a couple of watts more” to ensure audiophiles get the most out of it.

When it comes to specifics, the Hegel H600 has a damping factor of 400 and 2 Ohms drive capability. With a total of 303 watts in 8 Ohms, the H600 is basically a “powerhouse” that can “drive any speaker with confidence and ease.”

Anders Ertzeid from Hegel says, “The amplifier is a dual mono design, bringing it as close as possible to the performance of two mono amps in a single box. It also boasts a state-of-the-art preamplifier with the extremely precise volume attenuator found in our reference P30A amplifier.”

In addition, the Hege H600 comes with an in-house electronic circuitry design. With the best possible components, the amplifier can deliver unprecedented control over the playback.

Talking of which, you’ll find SoundEngine2 correction technology on Hegel H600. It makes sure that the audio signal is as close to the original recording as possible.

In other words, the H600 can deliver a deep soundstage and an immersive audio experience. The dynamic range of the Hegel H600 is top-notch too.

And you get tremendous control over the bass control. Thanks to these, you’ll need a good pair of speakers, and you’ll be set for an enhanced listening session.

Regarding the DAC, the Hegel H600 utilizes a D/A Converter that has a bit-perfect design. It can offer pure audio fidelity without the need for upsampling or resampling.

And that level of performance is quite expected as the DAC is reasonably large, and Hegel needed to integrate a dedicated power supply.

To further enhance the DAC’s performance, Hegel utilized a thick steel plate for the DAC. It offers the right level of shielding and ensures that there’s no interference in the audio.

You also get tons of streaming options. Andres says the Hegel H600 is up-to-date with the latest options for streaming your favorite music.

And that’s true, as you’ll find UPnP streaming, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Roon Ready on the amplifier.
