The much-awaited Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Mini is now official. And even though it has mini in its name, Sennheiser didn’t do any minification in terms of the soundbar’s features.
But, of course, the size of the soundbar has seen a significant shrinkage compared to the regular Ambeo Soundbar and Ambeo Soundbar Plus. To be exact, the Ambeo Soundbar Mini is less than half the cubic volume of the Soundbar Plus.
The soundbar’s super compact form factor makes it perfect for pretty much all setups. That includes a desktop, gaming room, bedroom, and pretty much anywhere where you can put a speaker.
Now, while it measures 70 x 10 x 6.5 cm, the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Mini can deliver 250 Watts of Class D amplification. That drives four of the high-end full-range drivers that are inside the unit.
In addition to the full-range drivers, the Ambeo Soundbar Mini features four inches in size dual subwoofers. Such a driver configuration makes the unit perfect for everything, from movie-watching to gaming to music-listening.
On that note, the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Mini has content-specific features. For example, you’ll find a voice enhancement option that’ll make podcasts and other voice-forward content more enjoyable.
Moreover, the soundbar comes with an HDMI input that’s eARC-enabled. Thanks to this port, you won’t need to keep multiple remotes near your home theatre or gaming setups.
You can also control the audio playback of the soundbar with the Sennheiser Smart Control app. This app will even let you manage the enabled features and update the firmware through your smartphone.
Like its siblings, the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Mini comes with 3D sound. Sennheiser has collaborated with the Fraunhofer Institute to offer this feature on its Ambeo lineup.
The Ambeo Soundbar Mini also comes with built-in microphones. These four microphones serve a dual purpose. First, they aid in the room calibration process of the soundbar, letting the unit sound perfect through automatic configurations.
Secondly, the microphones bring support for voice assistants such as Google Assistant, Siri, and Alexa. That means you can control the parameters with voice commands if you want to.
Furthermore, the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Mini features Ambeo OS. This operating system enables one-touch audio calibration.
The OS also brings support for Dolby Atmos, MPEG-H codecs, DTS:X, and 360 Reality Audio formats. These should enhance your experience with spatial audio content.
Lastly, the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Mini can connect to devices through Bluetooth and WiFi. There’s support for Apple AirPlay, Tidal Connect, and Spotify Connect too.
You can also pay from streaming services such as Tidal, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music.
