There are a ton of highlights from the Far Out event of Apple. For example, there are the new iPhones, the new Apple Watch SE and Ultra, and most importantly, the AirPods Pro 2.
Apple AirPods Pro brings Active Noise Cancellation that blocks outside noise, so you can immerse yourself in music. Transparency mode for hearing and interacting with the world around you
And although the new AirPods Pro looks pretty much the same as the 1st generation model, it is genuinely improved in pretty much every way.
It’s not about the protruding stick that is making the new AirPods Pro 2 look pretty much the same as the 1st generation. It even comes in only one colorway, which is white.
However, the capacitive touch control is the key upgrade on the body, although it will not be that easy to notice without using the TWS buds. The touch control is on the exterior surface of the earbuds and will enable the users to make adjustments to the volume.
Furthermore, there is the new H2 chip. And this H2 chip in AirPods Pro 2 will allow the earbuds to offer advanced computational audio to the users. Among all the benefits that the H2 chip can offer, the noise cancellation feature is the highlight.
According to Apple, the H2 will enable the AirPods Pro 2 to offer two times more powerful noise cancellation than the original AirPods Pro.
In addition to that, Apple has stated that the chip will process Adaptive Transparency Mode 48 thousand times per second. That will eventually reduce a lot of heavy and hard-to-deal-with sounds around you when you have the mode turned on.
Just like the AirPods Max and AirPods 3, the new AirPods Pro 2 will have support for Spatial Audio. Also, a new personalized Spatial Audio option is available for iOS 16.
That feature will rely on the TrueDepth camera found on the iPhone to determine a unique listening profile that matches the shape of the head and ear shape of the user.
In other words, the Spatial Audio on the new AirPods Pro will be more advanced than the one found on the other AirPods.
Besides that, Apple has integrated a new low distortion speaker and a custom amplifier. Those are basically there to improve the overall audio quality. However, there is no mention of lossless audio. But Apple did mention that the H2 chip will support high-bandwidth connectivity.
The other things about the AirPods Pro 2 are pretty much as usual. That is, there is a lightning-wired charging port and support for Qi and Apple MagSafe wireless charging.
You can also use the charger that comes with the Apple Watch if you want to. Also, a full charge can make the buds offer up to 6 hours of run time, and you can get up to 30 hours of total listening time from the charging case.
