There’s a piece of good news for those who are looking to get new loudspeakers for their setup, which is that the Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series S3 is finally official!
It’s the eighth generation of the much-loved and highly popular loudspeaker range. This brand-new range comes with four models.
They are the 603 S3 floorstanding speaker, the 606 S3 standmount speaker, the HTM6 S3 center channel speaker, and the 607 S3 bookshelf speaker.
Regardless of which speaker you get from the Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series S3, you can choose between some aesthetically pleasing colors. That includes Black, White, Cherry, and Oak finish.
To complete the setup, you can get an FS-600 floor stand from Bowers & Wilkins, which comes in black and silver color options.
As you might have guessed, all the speakers in the Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series S3 are designed to work optimally together. And the great part is that they work in different configurations.
Now, while the Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series S3 is a brand-new range, many of the components of the speakers come from the 700 series S3. But Bowers & Wilkins did improve some factors to make the lineup offer high-end performance.
For example, the cabinet construction of the series has been redesigned. Moreover, the series comes with a new Titanium Dome, which gets the benefits from the 700 Series S3-sized diaphragm mounting plate.
This eventually offers better and comparatively more open dispersion. The new Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series S3 also includes the latest modern open tweeter grille design, which comes directly from the 800 Series Signature.
According to Bowers & Wilkins, the combination of all of these new technologies will make sure that the new tweeter offers a smoother and more refined sound. Most importantly, it’ll ensure no degradation in terms of detail or resolution.
In addition, the brand-new Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series S3 comes with the proprietary Continuum Cones. The motor assemblies from the 700 Series S3 make the overall sound output get an exceptionally low distortion rating.
The cabinets of the 600 Series S3 have seen extensive improvements as well. Under the hood, Bowers & Wilkins mounted the main drive units and the tweeter closer together.
Bowers & Wilkins utilized intersecting trim rings to enhance integration and improve stereo imaging. And on the rear speaker, there’s a new terminal array from the 700 Series S3.
Moreover, Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series S3 has seen a major upgrade in the internal bracing. It’s now of a higher standard wood, making the enclosure achieve a high overall rigidity.
Finally, the 600 Series S3 features metal threaded inserts, ensuring that the speakers can be securely fixed on the top plate of the FS-600 S3 stands.
