- So, that's our Christmas gift guide for 2022 of all of the tech gear for the man in your life.
Being a tech-loving traveling gadget geek myself, I find it easy to put Christmas wishlists and Christmas guides together because I tend to study and review an enormous number of gadgets, headphones, and tech gear.
There’s always things that people will buy themselves, but every now and again, there is a clear list of things that sometimes men won’t buy for themselves. These gifts are good for anyone, but as I know, most of the tech-loving visitors and community of Make Life Click are men, this list is specific for them.
Of course, if you’re reading this you can secretly forward it to a loved one in the hope you’ll get something from here.
But that doesn’t mean that that special other that you have in your life might not also find something on this list, which is super helpful. In fact, there’s lots on this list I’d love to buy my wife for her work and creative pursuits.
So, here’s the Christmas gift guide for men in 2022
1: Roost Laptop Stand – Gift for the Mobile Worker
The Roost is, in my opinion, the best traveling laptop stand on the market.
It’s now in its third version and I still have the OG version and it has traveled over a million kilometers with me around the world to numerous offices and locations. It’s not just the design that’s so intuitive or the look, but it’s the build quality.
There are a few copycat products on the market, but I still think that the build quality of the Roost stands out and that’s why it’s managed to travel so far with me because it’s durable. It folds down to be incredibly compact, and it is also incredibly light.
It holds my 14-inch MacBook and my 16-inch MacBook Pro no problem at all, and it’s just so easy to fold up, drop into your bag wherever you’re going. It’s a little pricier than some of the copycat models, but it will go the distance for you.
Digital laptop stands are so handy for when you are heading out to a cafe and want better ergonomics or if you’re working from hotel rooms or you just need to be able to move around the house. I actually have mine permanently on my desk at home as my primary laptop stand and still love it.

2: Timekettle M3 Translation Earbuds – Gift for the Traveller
If you have a traveler in the house, whether that be for work or leisure, there are those moments where you’re not sure if you should travel to a specific country because you’re not really sure if you could navigate it.
Countries like Japan where if you leave the major cities, English is not commonly spoken, can be a little bit daunting for a lot of people. But with something like the Timekettle M3, you’ll be able to travel with a lot more confidence.
These translation earbuds from Timekettle may not do translation in real-time, but they’re pretty close and are quite quick to turn around any statement or phrase that’s given them. You can get up to 40 languages with 93 accents, and you can even have 13 of those language translations offline if you’re traveling somewhere and won’t have internet access.
The Timekettle M3 are perfect for broken translation where you will say something, it’ll translate it, and then the other person will hear the translation, then they will speak, it’ll translate it, and you will hear the translation.
This is more than enough to navigate hotels, travel, transportation, and sightseeing in any country that you go to. You can even ensure that you can order your favorite coffee whatever country you land in.
These aren’t the only translation earbuds on the market, but I think they work great. Their design is very intuitive, the battery life is good.
And not only that, but you can use them for music and take calls and they even have active noise canceling built in. So, wherever you’re planning to travel in 2023, the Timekettle M3 Translator Earbuds are a great thing to throw in the bag to take with you.

3: OneOdio A10 ANC Headphones – Gift for the Budget Traveler
If you’re on a budget or you’ve got younger people in the house that need an affordable pair of active noise-canceling headphones, then the OneOdio A10 active noise-canceling budget headphones, which have been updated for 2022 are a great choice.
For the price, they offer up to 35 DB of noise reduction. They sound pretty good and they’re quite comfortable.
They’re very well made, and so if you are traveling or commuting, or just want something at home to help shut out a bit of the noise that is there or even in the office, then the OneOdio A10 ANC Headphones are a pretty good choice. The price alone means that you’re getting a lot of bang for the buck.
If there’s an audiophile in your house, then don’t bother with these, but anybody else will be more than happy with what these produce.

4: TourBox Elite – Gift for the Creator
This one is for the digital creators in your life who use Photoshop, Lightroom, or do video editing.
This is what I named the fidget cube for creatives and allows creative people to build impressive and fast workflows into their creative work. With all of the buttons that are programmable, you’re able to shortcut a lot of the keys and mouse scrolling and mouse clicking that’s required when you’re editing photos, producing videos, and the like.
The toolbox is fully customizable, so there’s very little that it can’t take care of with most apps, and even you can use it as a computer controller. This is an impressive little unit and perfect for the digital creator in your life.

5: Xencelabs Pen Tablet – GIft for the Artist
The Xencelabs Pen Tablet range is perfect for the artist in your life.
It allows them to create stunning graphics and visuals with an impressively made tablet that is both wireless and wireless, wired and wireless, and that also comes with an impressive pen case with two types of pens in, digital pens that also have a range of nibs that you can swap out to create better effects as a pencil or brush types, or felt markers and more.
The build quality on the Xencelabs Pen Tablet is super impressive, the wireless functionality is great, and the whole package with its case and the pen case and a case for the tablet is just top class and definitely gives more than value for money. So, if you have an artist or a digital artist in the house, then this would be a great gift for them to add on to their artistic creations.

6: Bose QC45 ANC Headphones – Gift for the Business Traveller
The Bose QC35 made my list two years ago, and last year, and this year, and now we’re putting the QC45s on there because it’s hard to get the QC35s at a deal.
The QC45 are the current model from Bose and in my opinion, are still really the best active noise-canceling headphones you can buy in terms of comfort, sound quality, noise canceling, build quality.
If there’s a road warrior in your house that travels a lot for business and spends a lot of time on airplanes, then the QC45 is a perfect audiophile choice for headphones that will make travel so much more enjoyable.
They don’t have quite as much active noise canceling as the new Sony WH-1000XM5s, but they are so much more comfortable and I believe that the sound signature of them is nicer. More pricey than your average set of headphones, but if you are traveling on planes a lot for work or leisure, these will really make a difference to your overall well-being.
7: SwitchBot switches – Gift for the Smart Homer
SwitchBot switches are certainly not new for ’22, but they are a great little unit.
If the man in your house loves smart home technology, then these might be a great gift choice. They’re perfect for using with your smart home setup, but they’re actual button-pushing physical switches that will take old buttons that might exist in your house like light switches, coffee makers, air conditioning units that might not be able to be easily controlled and turns them into a smart device by allowing the SwitchBot to push the button on a schedule or on command using a voice assistant like Alexa or Google or using the SwitchBot smart home app.
I have one on our old air conditioning unit and it allows me to turn the air conditioning on and off on a schedule and in the mornings or in the middle of the day when I’m cold or hot and I can just say to my smart speaker, “turn on the air conditioning.”
These are a really affordable little unit. You don’t need a smart assistant to use them, you can use the SwitchBot app to connect and control the unit.

8: Haylou Bone-Conducting Headphones – Gift for the Sport
These are perfect for the athlete or cyclist in your life.
These Bone-Conducting Headphones sit around the ear and the music signal is driven into the jawline just in front of your ears. This provides a musical experience for anybody that doesn’t want to block their ears during athletic activities and are favorites of cyclists.
They won’t give you a full music reproduction experience, but it’s enough that you can get some beats going while you’re on your bike, getting some kilometers down, and still allow you to hear the vehicles, people, and noise around you to ensure safety. They’re also very highly rated for water resistance, so you could probably take them out for water sports as long as you don’t immerse them for too long.

9: Carpuride CarPlay display – Gift for the Auto-buff
The Carpuride CarPlay display is perfect for somebody that wants to get Android Auto or Apple CarPlay in their car, but their car is older and no longer…and does not have CarPlay in it.
It’s an external screen which you plug into your car’s audio input and 12-volt cigarette lighter power socket in the car, and it then connects to your phone wirelessly using Bluetooth and allows you to have maps, music, audiobooks, and everything else Apple CarPlay has to offer in your car.
So, if you have an older car that doesn’t have CarPlay and you want it, then this is the perfect gift for you. It is quite a large unit, but they do sell different sizes, so you’ve got options.

10: KZ PR1 earphones – Gift for the Budget Audiophile
The KZ PR1 is for the budget audiophile in your house or the buddy musician who needs an in-ear monitor for live performances.
I’d really say it’s more for the budding audiophile. And these are an excellent and affordable set of in-ear monitors or earbuds that make music listening an absolute pleasure for a very affordable price.
They’re in-ear monitors based on how they fit into the ear and the cable comes out and over the ear allowing the cable to run down your back into whatever you’re gonna be playing your music from. They are wired earbuds.
These are typically used by musicians for when they’re performing live and you’ll see singers using them, but over the years, they’ve also become popular with just music lovers who want to improve the listening experience of their music. And so, companies like KZ are producing a lot of these, which is satisfying a lot of budget audiophiles looking for affordable and good-sounding earbuds.

11: LinkTap wireless tap controller – GIft for the Smart Gardener
If you have sprinklers around the house and you need to be turning them on or off, then the LinkTap tap controller is a great gift for your man for Christmas.
You put them on the end of the faucet and then that connects to the hose. The units connect to a hub, and then that allows you to connect the LinkTap to your smart speaker or Alexa app, or the LinkTap app itself.
You can schedule watering of your yard. It can take into account whether it’s going to rain or not, and therefore it will or will not water your garden.
And there’s something pretty cool about saying, “Alexa, water the garden for 10 minutes.” The LinkTap, as a gift idea, is great if you just need it to control a few faucets and hoses or one faucet and hose.
If you’re looking for a full sprinkler controller system which is powered, then you’ll need to spend a lot more and this won’t be the unit for you.

12: Open-Ears OE10 earphones – Gift for the Runner
The Open-Ears OE10 earphones are in between a bone-conducting headphone and a normal headphone or earphones.
It allows you to have an open ear for listening, but it provides a much more musical experience than bone-conducting headphones provide. These aren’t as stable as bone-conducting headphones like the Haylou, but they’re pretty good and hold on pretty tight.
They’re quite impressive in terms of the sound reproduction that they’re capable of, and the music is really just driven down into the ear from a speaker that sits just above the ear opening. Not a bad choice for runners or cyclists, also providing some awareness around them during their sporting activities.

13: Sonos Move Bluetooth Speaker – Gift for the Home HiFi-er
This is the Bluetooth speaker for the audiophile in your life.
It is certainly not cheap and is certainly not very small either, but it pumps out really great sound, which will be room-filling and pleasing to the ear. You can of course link multiple Sonos devices together throughout the house for a full wireless experience.
The Sonos Move is also very portable in terms of being able to pick it up and take it anywhere you want in the house or even down to the beach or similar. It has a built-in handle in the back, which you don’t wanna carry for too long, but is great for lifting the speaker off its base and taking it wherever you want music to be.
This is a great Bluetooth speaker gift idea for people that really appreciate quality Hi-Fi and want the very best.

14: Apple mini HomePod – For the iPhone Owner
The Apple HomePod took a long time to release and other companies got their smart speakers out sooner, but as always, if Apple aren’t there first, then at least they’ll come later and do it better.
It is probably the best small smart home speaker on the market, beating out the Google Mini and Amazon Alexa Dot with an impressive LED display, not unpleasing form factor in design, a good listening ear, and decent music. The Apple HomePod is definitely a great gift idea for the man in your life for 2022.
On top of that, you can have it in multiple colors, so you can get the color that’s just right for you or that special partner of yours.
