Netflix has just picked big wins at the 95th Academy Awards. It won a total of six Oscars and received 16 total nominations this year.

Among all the award-winning films, the most notable are All Quiet on the Western Front and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. Between those two, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio is the first animated feature film that has won an Oscar.

But yes, the entire Oscar event was dominated by Everything, Everywhere All at Once (A24).

That film took home more than seven statues, including three for acting, Best Picture, and Best Director.

The success of this film is phenomenal because it was once handicapped by its early 2022 release. But it still managed to pull through and steal the show.

From the cast, Michelle Yeaoh got the Best Actress award, Ke Huy Quan got the Best Supporting Actor award,  Jamie Lee Curtis got the Best Supporting Actress award, and finally, Daniels got the Best Director award.

Getting back to the two most notable award-winning films for Netflix, All Quiet on the Western Front won Oscars for Best International Feature, Best Original Score, Best Production Design, and Best Cinematography.

This film has been one of the greatest successes of the streaming giant. Then, you have Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. It is currently a strong feather in the cap of Netflix. Wondering how?

This category has tons of competition from well-established studios such as Pixar, Sony Pictures, and DreamWorks.

AppleTV+, on the other hand, could not keep up with Netflix. It won just one award, which was with “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse.”

This animated film was nominated and awarded in the Animated Short Film category. Looking back at 2022, Netflix went home with just one award.

It was for the Power of Dog, for which Jane Championgot the Best Directing award. But the streaming giant did show the potential for major success that year.

It got 27 different nominations and 12 of them for the Power of the Dog. And it got four for Don’t Look Up, with the Power of the Dog running for the best picture.

A year back, in 2021, Netflix got seven Oscars. That was another year when the streaming giant showed the world what it could offer.

And this year, it showed that the streaming platform is back on track, getting more awards than any other streaming rivals. Hopefully, it will be able to keep it up and offer viewers more Oscar-winning films in the future.
