Gaming TWS (True Wireless Stereo) buds are not a new thing. Many brands will boast about how good their offerings are in terms of low latency performance.
More synchronized audio visual response for mobile gaming: Provides a more immersive wireless experience for videos and games via a 60ms input latency.
However, there are not many good earbuds out there which are specifically for consoles. Well, Razer decided to change that.
The Hammerhead HyperSpeed from Razer is a pair of wireless earbuds specifically for consoles. And to make sure that you make the right choice, Razer has brought out two different variants.
One is for Playstation, while the other is for Xbox. Before anything else, you should know that these earbuds are basically a new variation of the standard Hammerhead earbuds. So, why would Razer need to bring out another variation of a product already in its catalog?
Actually, these earbuds promise to offer better overall performance for the respective consoles. However, it seems like the Xbox variant is more capable than the Playstation one.
How so? Even though that variant is specifically marketed for Xbox consoles, the buds can connect to both Playstation and Xbox consoles.
On the other hand, the Playstation variant can not connect to the consoles from Microsoft. By diving deeper into the issue, you will find that the Xbox audio accessories need a special security chip to function.
Without this security chip, no audio accessories will be capable of connecting to the Xbox consoles. And as the Playstation variant is specifically for Playstation 4 and 5, Razer did not find the need to integrate the chip.
Other than that, both variants are exactly the same. In terms of features, Hammerhead HyperSpeed is packed with them.
First, you have active noise cancellation, which will allow you to take a deep dive into the game you are playing. Secondly, there are RGB lighting effects to make the accessory sync with other RGB accessories that you might have.
The 2.4 GHz mode will enable you to get super low wireless latency, while Bluetooth 5.2 will allow you to pair the buds up with a mobile device. Talking of latency, it is at 25 to 35 ms, which is an excellent point to be at for gaming earbuds.
Finally, you will not need to recharge the buds frequently. The buds can offer up to 8 hours of run time with a single charge. And with its case, you will get an additional 22 hours of charge. So, in total, you have 30 hours.
