The body and case of LinkBuds S in Earth Blue is made from factory-recovered plastic and reclaimed water bottles, which gives them their distinctive marble pattern.
Sony has pledged that for every sale of the LinkBuds S in Japan and Europe regions, $2 will be donated to the US nonprofit Conservation International. However, this pledge is not just limited to the Earth Blue color.
Instead, every sale of the LinkBuds S falls into this criteria. This pledge comes after the brand announced that all the LinkBuds S buds and their charging cases are made from a material that combines recycled plastic car parts with stone.
This material is unique because it is easily recyclable. Furthermore, the brand ships every pair of LinkBuds S in unprinted, unbleached, and plastic-free packaging.
That makes the buds gain a high overall eco-friendly status, which is something that a few brands can claim.
Nonetheless, the new Earth Blue color of the LinkBuds S has a touch of uniqueness to it. The color has an eye-catching blue-marbled effect, which, according to the brand, is produced from recycled water dispensers.
