The audio brand Bluesound is well-known for its award-winning Node. It is a device that made a lot of fame in 2021. And it is not easy to make a follow-up streamer that can be a true successor of an award-winning one.

New Release
Bluesound POWERNODE Edge

The POWERNODE EDGE is a modern streaming amplifier that brings hi-res audio to every room and space in your home.

So, did Bluesound make a similar effort with the Powernode Edge? Well, the brand seems to have made the right decision regarding releasing a successor of a highly-rated device.

With the Powernode Edge, Bluesound is bringing something that the previous iteration lacked, built-in amplification. Now, you might say that this speaker’s streamer with built-in amplification is nothing new.

Yes, there are many such devices out there. For example, the Technics SA-C600, Naim Uniti Atom, and Cambridge Audio Evo 150. The thing is, Bluesound is offering a competitive device at a much lower price tag.

And that is something that can make the Powernode Edge go a long way. But what exactly is the device bringing to the table?

In short, the Powernode Edge from Bluesound is a pretty much all-in-one device. It combines streaming controls, streaming services, and amplification in the same unit. So, in order to complete a setup with this device, you just have to include speakers.

Here is the catch; as the device has built-in amplification, you might not need active speakers. Instead, you can get a proper setup with passive speakers, which means you will not have to spend tons of money on them.

But why stop with just a set of speakers? You can make a full-fledged setup with a subwoofer. That will enable you to get a truly compact 2.1 stereo system. Also, you could power the rear channels of a wireless surround system if you want to.

Nonetheless, just like the Node, the Powernode Edge can playback hi-res files up to 24-bit/192 kHz. Also, the device has support for MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) playback

So, you don’t have to sacrifice one bit of the audio quality while listening to your favorite tracks.

Thanks to the Bluesound Powernode edge being small in size, you can easily make it sit on top of a shelf or a desktop.

The packaging will also come with a multi-orientation wall bracket, allowing you to hide the unit behind a couch.

What about streaming services? So, you will have access to more than 20 different streaming services. That includes Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, and Amazon Music. And the important part is that you can control it all with the BluOS Controller app.

Alternatively, you can play your own majestic collection of music through WiFi. For that, you have the Apple AirPlay 2. Also, if you want to, you can jam to your favorite tracks with Bluetooth aptX HD.
