In case you missed it, Huawei has recently released a new pair of True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, the Huawei FreeBuds 5i.
And although they come with great specs and insane capabilities, they are easy on the wallet. So, what makes it better than most of the affordable TWS buds that are currently on the market?
Firstly, it comes with Hi-res audio support. The buds come with certified Hi-res codec, LDAC, onboard. Thanks to that codec, they will be capable of streaming high-resolution audio with up to 24-bit/96kHz files over Bluetooth.
And the buds can reach up to 990kbps data speeds, which is the highest rate of the codec. In simpler words, you can catch every audio details that are in your favorite tracks.
Then, there’s the premium design of the Huawei FreeBuds 5i. It seems like Huawei did not cut any corners in the build quality. The case features a pebble stone design and has a textured surface.
Huawei achieved this outlook by taking full advantage of inkjet-coating techniques. What about the buds? The stems of Huawei Freebuds 5i are 7 mm shorter than the FreeBuds 4i.
And this design choice made the buds weigh just 4.9 grams each, which is lighter than most of the other TWS buds out there.
The sound performance of the buds will blow you the way. The Huawei FreeBuds 5i boasts 10-mm dynamic drivers, which are backed by multi-EQ effects.
Through the AI Life app, you can adjust the sound signature on the fly. And the great part is that the app lets you finely tune the bass and treble of the drivers.
Furthermore, there is the hybrid noise-cancellation tech. This tech utilizes both the outward and inward-facing microphones that are on the Huawei FreeBuds 5i.
And according to Huawei, this tech can efficiently detect external noise and, most importantly, the extra noise within the ear canal. That results in up to 42dB noise reduction.
The Huawei FreeBuds 5i also offers complete control over the ANC strength. There are three different modes, General, Cozy, and Ultra. Each is suitable for specific environments.
In short, you can expect to get an excellent ANC performance out of the buds. On that note, Huawei FreeBuds 5i utilizes the same ANC tech to promise clear calls.
There is an AI neural network algorithm that will distinguish your voice from external sounds. Also, it has an IP54 rating, which will protect the buds from dust and water splashes.
Lastly, the battery life of the buds is highly praiseworthy. With the ANC turned on, you can expect to get up to 6 hours of playtime.
And when you consider the charging case, the total battery life is up to 28 hours. That is higher than the top-rated Sony WF-1000XM4!
