Christmas is just near the horizon, and considering Apple recently released the AirPods Pro 2, the TWS is on many people’s gift lists. But it seems like those gift lists will require some modification.
According to recent tweets from Ming-Chi Kuo, a respected analyst of Apple products, Goertek, a “key Apple supplier,” has been asked to “suspend the assembly production” of a “smart acoustic product.”
How do we know the “smart acoustic product” is the Apple AirPods Pro 2? Kuo has asserted that the product suspended from assembly “may be the Apple AirPods Pro 2.”
He further added that the issues are probably down to production instead of lack of demand. And Ming-Chi Kuo speculated that Luxshare, which is another supplier of Apple, might become the exclusive assembler of Apple AirPods Pro 2.
Luxshare, which is China-based, is well-known for handling the production of Apple AirPods. In recent times, the supplier has also won a string of contracts from Apple.
In fact, it is at a point where it is building a “mega-plant,” which could rival Foxconn, the most prominent supplier of Apple.
If all the speculations are true, it will be sad for the people saving up to get the Apple AirPods 2 at Christmas. The thing is, Apple released the TWS just back in September. It came alongside the iPhone 14.
And a product that gets released in recent times does not really go on sale unless there is a special occasion. Well, Christmas is one of those special occasions.
However, there is still some hope left for the people who have the TWS buds on their wish lists. Kuo has tipped that Apple plans to ship 20 million pairs of AirPods Pro 2 in Q4 of 2022. Now, that is a lot of earbuds.
But, with Apple relying on just one supplier for the product, it will not take much time for the stores to run out of these products.
And considering the fact that these earbuds are in great demand, you might have to fight to get a pair. In fact, some online retailers might even run out at the very beginning of December.
The silver lining here would be Black Friday deals are popping up every now and then. So, if you have been looking for one pair of earbuds, you definitely want to take Kuo’s statements as warnings.
And instead of waiting for Christmas sales, snag one of the pairs as soon as they show up in the Black Friday deals.
