So, this summer, Urbanista announced the world’s first solar-powered wireless earbuds. This announcement stirred the world as it was a remarkable jump in the audio industry.
Everyone wanted to get a first-hand experience with the buds. And now, they can! Yes, the Urbanista Phoenix is now available for purchase.
It was unveiled in August and made headlines for being the first-ever solar-powered wireless earbuds.
However, it’s not the buds that can be powered by solar energy. Instead, the charging case has the Powerfoyle solar cell panel.
Urbanista developed this solar cell panel by partnering with a solar specialist fellow Swedish company Exeger.
And this panel can continuously recharge the battery inside in both sunlight and ambient light. That means you can keep the battery in charging mode even when you are indoors.
That said, this is not the first time we are seeing solar tech in the audio space. Urbanista Los Angeles, launched in 2021, had the same tech.
However, getting such innovative tech inside a pocket-friendly device deserves praise. What about the earbuds?
Well, they are in line with the best earbuds available in the market today. For example, Urbanista Phoenix comes with hybrid active noise cancellation tech. Thanks to that, the buds will not fail to offer an immersive music-listening experience.
Then, there are noise-reduction microphones inside the Phoneix. Those will filter out the ambient sounds and offer a transparency mode that is much similar to what you find in the Apple AirPods Pro 2.
Now, the real question is, how good is the battery life of the Urbanista Phoenix? In short, it’s excellent! The buds can offer up to 8 hours of run time, while you will get a total of 32 hours of run time with the battery case.
Again, these figures make Phoenix an excellent pick for the best wireless earbuds. You can say the same about the build quality.
The brand did not skimp one bit in terms of materials. And the design is pretty sleek too. In short, the buds have set the bar for innovative and feature-packed earbuds pretty high.
All in all, though the tech is inside the charging case, the Phoenix is definitely a one-of-a-kind product. And it can definitely make more and more wireless earbuds come up with innovative ideas in the future.
Also, because it is the brand’s second product to come with such innovative tech, many of us are looking up to Urbanista to come up with more innovative earbuds in the future. Hopefully, it will not disappoint.
